District Attorney Daniella M. Shorter announces the conviction of TINISHA BROWN for Aggravated Assault-Domestic Violence.


On July 22, 2024, Tinisha Brown appeared before the Honorable Judge Tomika H. Irving in Copiah County Circuit Court and plead guilty to the aforementioned charge. Judge Irving sentenced Defendant Brown to Five (5) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with Five (5) of those years suspended and served as supervised probation. Defendant Brown is required to pay court cost and fees in the amount of Four Hundred and Twenty-Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($427.50) and a bond fee as issued by the Court. Defendant Brown is to pay Four Thousand and Forty-Two Dollars and Eighty-Eight Cents ($4,042.88) in restitution to the victim Ashley May for medical expenses.


On or about October 15, 2022, Tinisha Brown made unauthorized entry into the

home of Ashely May, a former romantic partner, and attacked Ashely May while she was

unarmed and in bed. Defendant Brown struck Ashley in the head with a firearm and fired the weapon into the ceiling of the home.
