MARKEITZ LOFTON, INVESTIGATORTWENTY-SECOND CIRCUIT COURT DISTRICTPRESS RELEASE

District Attorney Daniella M. Shorter announces the successful completion of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy (MLEOTA) Certified Investigator’s Program by Investigator Markeitz L. Lofton. As a division of Mississippi’s Department of Public Safety, MLEOTA’s Certified Investigator’s Program trains the brightest and the best of Mississippi Law Enforcement.


While enrolled, Lofton completed 320 hours of physical, tactical, and lecture-based training. His training included a host of areas, including, felony crime scene investigation, report writing, evidence collection, cyber and media data recovery and various areas of law enforcement investigation tactics.


Lofton is a proud 49-year resident of Copiah County. He began his tenure in law enforcement with the Crystal Springs Police Department, where he worked through the ranks to become Assistant Chief of Police. He also worked for the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff. Lofton began his employment with the District Attorney’s Office as Investigator in November 2023. He is the loving husband of Crystal L. Lofton, and the loving father of D’ungeornae, Keiston, and Khiry.
