District Attorney Daniella M. Shorter announced the conviction of Lawyer Davis on one (1) count of simple domestic violence.
On November 4, 2024 Lawyer Davis appeared in Claiborne County Circuit Court and pleaded guilty to the charge. Circuit Judge Tomika H. Irving sentenced Davis to a six (6) month suspended sentence and ordered him to pay a fine in the amount of $100.00, an assessment to the Mississippi Crime Victims Compensation Fund in the amount of $100.00, and court costs in the amount of $268.75.
Should this case have gone to trial, the prosecution would have shown that on December 4, 2023, the Crystal Springs Police Department responded to 112 Lakeview Street in Crystal Springs in reference to a domestic disturbance. The victim told law enforcement she and Davis got into an argument over money allegedly stolen by the victim’s husband. During the argument, Davis retrieved a handgun from the kitchen and hit the victim in the head causing a minor laceration and bruising.
