District Attorney Daniella M. Shorter announces the sentencing of the conviction of Larry Griffin, JR. for Accessory after the Fact to Robbery.
On November 4, 2024, Griffin appeared before the honorable Judge Tomika H. Irving in Claiborne County Circuit Court and was sentenced to the aforementioned charge. Judge Irving sentenced Defendant Griffin to Five (5) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with Five (5) of those years suspended and Two (2) years served as supervised probation. Defendant Griffin is required to pay a court cost in the amount of Four Hundred and Twenty-Seven Dollars and Fifty Cents ($427.50) and a bond fee as ordered by the Court.
On February 28, 2022, Alcorn State Campus Police were called to a reported robbery in the parking lot of the Medgar Wiley Evers Complex.
Students reported an alleged robbery while they were barbequing in the parking lot. Upon further investigation and eyewitness identification police were able to locate Jarrell Johnson, Larry Griffin, Jr., Taurus West, and Ronnie Griffin, Jr. as the perpetrators. Said Defendants were visiting the campus and upon entering the parking lot took the personal property of Gregory Jones and Adrian Proby, Jr, both students at the University.
Griffin and his accomplices’ actions were in blatant disregard to the peace and dignity of the citizens of Claiborne County and Alcorn State University.
