District Attorney Daniella M. Shorter announced the conviction of Kelly McClendon for the crime of possession of methamphetamine. Kelly McClendon was sentenced by Judge Tomika H. Irving on July 22, 2024, to serve three (3) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with one (1) year of post release supervision upon his release. Additionally, he was ordered to pay court costs of $454.50, a $150 investigative fee to the District Attorney’s Office, and a $210 bond fee.


On May 15, 2021, Kelly McClendon was arrested in Copiah County by Mississippi

Bureau of Narcotics Agent Kevin Dear when Kelly McClendon and Bethany

Beagles arrived at his home uninvited. On this day, Kelly McClendon was arrested

and found to be in possession of 1.32 grams of methamphetamine when Agent Dear

approached the vehicle and a meth pipe was clearly seen in the vehicle. As a result

of this, McClendon’s vehicle was legally searched. Therefore, Kelly McClendon

pled guilty to these charges, and he was sentenced accordingly.
