District Attorney Daniella M. Shorter announced the conviction of Keeric Davis for the crime of Obstruction of Justice. Keeric Davis was sentenced by Judge Tomika H. Irving in Claiborne County on October 7, 2024, to serve five (5) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with four (4) years suspended and five (5) years of supervised probation. Additionally, he was ordered to pay court costs of $427.50, a $150 investigative fee to the District Attorney’s Office, and a $100 fine to the Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund.
On July 23, 2022, Keeric Davis hindered the prosecution of Rogers Patten, who was charged with the murder of Robert Reynolds in Jefferson County, by providing false information to the police. Robert Reynolds was killed when he was shot in the stomach while Rogers Patten, Keeric Davis, and Isiah Davis were wrestling over a gun. During the investigation of this matter, it was learned that Rogers Patten gave the gun to Keeric Davis, who at the time was a minor. The investigation of this matter by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department led to the quick apprehension and arrest of Rogers Patten, Keeric Davis, and Isiah Davis. As a result of this investigation, it was determined that Keeric Davis provided false information to law enforcement on behalf of Rogers Patten in order to hinder the prosecution of Rogers Patten. Therefore, Keeric Davis pled guilty to the crime of Obstruction of Justice.
