Dana P. Sims, a native of Hinds County, Mississippi. Born in Jackson, MS to Jerry and Betty Price. She attended Raymond High School and graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a Degree in Administration of Justice and a minor in Spanish.


In 2007 she was accepted into the University of Mississippi School of Law where she graduated with her Juris Doctorate in 2010. Dana was admitted into the practice of law by the Mississippi Bar Association in April 2011.


She began her legal career as a contract attorney with the Hinds County Board of

Supervisors under the supervision of Board Attorney, Crystal W. Martin. In 2012 Dana accepted the position as Legal Counsel for the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office, where she was the first African American female to hold the position. She has served as Deputy City Attorney for the City of Jackson, Mississippi, Assistant District Attorney for the 21 st District, and Special Assistant Attorney General in the Public Integrity Division of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.


She is currently serving as an Assistant District Attorney for the 22 nd Judicial District,

including Copiah, Claiborne, and Jefferson Counties. She is a member of the

Mississippi Prosecutors Association, Magnolia Bar Association, and the Metro Black

Women Lawyers. Dana is the happy wife of Ronnie E. Sims, Jr. and the proud mother

of Connor and Cooper Sims also known as Nutball 1 & Nutball 2.
