CHRISTOPHER HENLEY PRESS RELEASE

District Attorney Daniella Shorter-Levy announced the conviction of Christopher Henley for the crimes of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.


Henley was sentenced by Judge Tomika H. Irving to serve three (3) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with three (3) years suspended and three (3) years of supervised probation for the crime of possession of methamphetamine. Henley was sentenced by Judge Tomika H. Irving to serve five (5) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with two (2) years to serve and three (3) years of supervised probation for the crime of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Also, for each conviction, he was ordered to pay court costs of $454.50 and a $150.00 investigative fee to the District Attorney’s Office.


On June 7, 2019, Henley was stopped by a Mississippi Highway Trooper in Copiah County for a traffic stop when he noticed Henley driving erratically. During this stop, it was determined that Henley was Driving Under the Influence of narcotics. Henley was issued the proper citation for a D.U.I. and during the search of Henley because of his arrest, Henley was found to be in possession of marijuana, methamphetamines, and a firearm. The Trooper then contacted the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics to help him process the drugs that were seized during this arrest. The investigation of this matter indicated that Henley had a previous conviction for armed robbery in Copiah County. Therefore, Henley pled guilty to the charge of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
