District Attorney Daniella Shorter-Levy announced the conviction of Andy Williams for the crime of commercial burglary.
Williams was sentenced by Judge Tomika H. Irving to serve six (6) years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with two (2) years suspended and two (2) years of supervised probation.
Also, he was ordered to pay $500 in restitution to Perry Hughes (owner of Little Kid’s University), court costs of $427.50, a $150.00 investigative fee to the District Attorney’s Office, and $100 to the Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund.
On April 6, 2023, Williams was arrested in Louisiana while he was driving the van from Little Kid’s University, a business located in Port Gibson, Mississippi. On this day, it was reported by the owner of the business, Perry Hughes, that the business had been broken into and the van was missing.
The investigation of this matter by the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department learned that Williams was seen in Port Gibson driving the van. Based on this information, it was determined that Williams had broken into the Little Kid’s University business and stolen the keys of the vehicle. Williams then drove the vehicle to Louisiana and he was arrested while in possession of the vehicle, and as a result of these findings, he was charged with the crime of commercial burglary.
